Local Events:
Shad Fest Since 1983 Shad Fest has been using the annual Spring Shad run as an excuse to celebrate the start of the summer season on the last weekend of April. The downtown streets are closed to traffic, tents are set up and feature food, artists and crafters, and vendors of all sorts. There is live music, an auction, special events and every restaurant has Shad on the menu. The Barn Door Cottage is located a short walk from all of the action but just far enough that there aren't crowds outside your door and we have the best parking in town. If you are looking for a place to stay during Shad Fest the Barn Door Cottage is the best choice!
